June/July Monthly Beauty Favorites

Hey guys!! Sorry, I have been MIA. I had A LOT of stuff going on the past month (more on that later) and I got strep throat and scarlet fever. Any who, back to this awesome blog with my fav products for the past 2 months....

Starting with June...

1) DG Beauty Grapefruit Acne Scrub. It's comparable to the Neutrogena kind and works just as good, but it's half the price. I love this stuff. You can buy it at the Dollar General. 2) Secret Clinical Strength Stress Response Deodorant. It smell so good and works amazing. I mostly use it at night (that's what it says on the bottle). 3) Herbal Essences Honey, I'm Strong Rinse-Off Treatment. I freaking love this stuff. It smells so good and it makes my hair feel soft and smooth. I can definitely tell a difference in the amount of breakage since using this product. 4) Soft Soap Body Butter Coconut Scrub. My all time favorite summer scent is coconut. This stuff exfoliates, but is gentle enough to use every day and it's moisturizing.

Next up, are my July favs.....

1) St. Ives Indulgent Coconut Triple Body Butter Body Wash. Back to my coconut obsession. This stuff smells so yummy, it lathers nicely, is super moisturizing, is paraben-free and you can use it as a bubble bath as well. 2) Cover Girl Clean Oil Control Foundation in 505 Ivory. They discontinued my NatureLuxe foundation, so I had to find an alternative. I decided to try this one because I was having issues with oil So far, I really like it. It's not as blendable as the NatureLuxe, but it does have good coverage and feels light on the face. 3) Clean & Clear Morning Burst Fruit Infusions Smoothing Facial Scrub. This stuff smells like grape soda. It makes my face feel smooth, but not irritated like some scrubs.

Hope you guys enjoyed those favorites. Again, sorry it has been awhile since I have posted. I was catching up on another project that was a year in the making. I will be posting a blog about that shortly. Hope everyone is well.

Love,
Kristina.... aka KRISSE!!

May Beauty Favorites!!!

It's that time of the month again.... monthly favorites!! I am so excited to share this month's favorites. I have really been enjoying using all of these. Let's get started...

1) EOS Shave Cream in Pomegranate Raspberry
I absolutely LOVE this stuff. What caught my eye about it is the fact that you can shave dry with it and it does NOT give your razor burn (as long as you use a good razor). It smells good enough to eat too and is super moisturizing. I do not have to use lotion after shaving with this stuff. I will not be going back to regular shaving cream.

2) Softsoap Coconut & Warm Ginger Hand Soap
This is summer in a bottle. It smells so cool, refreshing and coco-nutty. I wish they had body wash that smelled like this. They do have the Coconut Body Buff Wash, but it does not smell the same. I like to use this and wash my hands with it in cold water. It's so refreshing.

3) Be A Bombshell blush in Sweet Cheeks
This blush is a every day pink. It does have a satin finish, but it is a very good color. The pigmentation is good and it does seem to last most of the day. The only thing is that it broke while in my make-up bag. I have no idea how it happened, because I didn't drop it. But with some alcohol, it will be fixed.

4) Wet N Wild Cover All Concealer in Light
This is a really good stick concealer. It has a thick consistency and covers very well. I find that it lasts all day and I do not have to reapply. Plus, you cannot beat the price, $2.

5) Cover Girl Flamed Out Mascara in Very Black Blaze
This is the new mascara by Cover Girl. I really love the large fluffy brush. The formula is wetter compared to Lash Blast. It does a good job of separating your lashes and giving them a natural curl. It claims to add volume, but I find the Lash Blast Volume gives more volume than this stuff. I also find it not as crunchy s the Lash Blast. Overall, will be re-purchasing this mascara because I love it.

6) NYX Ultra Pearl Mania in Charcoal
I have been wearing this to smoke out my eyes. A little goes a long way and the pigmentation is amazing. It is very blendable and buildable.

7) Victoria's Secret Body Spray in Midnight Dare
I was lucky enough to get this for free with a coupon (no purchase necessary). The scent is a mixture of raspberry and sandalwood. It is a very warm and delicious scent (if that makes sense). It is not too fruity, but not too perfume-y. I really love this scent for summer because of the sandalwood.

Well those are all of my monthly favorites. Hope you enjoyed them!!

New Cover Girl Products!!

Last night I needed to go to Wal-Mart after work to get some coffee creamer and razors. When I walked by the cosmetics, I noticed the new Cover Girl displays on the end cap of the aisle and I STOPPED. I have not even heard or seen any advertisements about these products. I don't live under a rock or anything. I don't have cable, but I do read Cosmo and Glamour and I do watch my fair share of YouTube beauty videos.

The first product I noticed was the Lipslicks Smoochies which is a moisturizing lip balm. I tried to see how many shades there were, but there is NOTHING on Cover Girl's website about any of these new products. Below, are some pictures of the complete display and some of the colors available. Wal-Mart is selling these for $4.94.

The next product I saw was the new Flamed Out Mascara. It claims to have bigger, hotter, more flamed out volume. As, a dedicated Lash Blast user, I look forward to trying these. Again, not sure how many colors there are, but the packaging is adorable. Wal-Mart has this mascara for $5.94. Below are the pictures of the display.

The next product is a new foundation. It is the Clean Whipped Creme foundation. It claims to be 100% smoother and non-drying. Wal-Mart's price is $6.94 for 18mL of product. Below are the pictures of the display and you can see some of the color options.

The last product is the new Clean Glow Blusher and Bronzer. These are also $6.94 I do believe (these and the foundation, were together and there was only one price tag). These are a lightweight, blendable matte color.

I look forward to trying these products. Comment below if you find them at any of your local stores or tweet me at eatXvenom or instagram me a photo (@hellokrisse8 or #hellokrisse88). Hope all is well.

Love,
Kristina

Beauty Things I Suck At Tag

I have watched several of the "Beauty Things I Suck At" videos on YouTube and they make me feel not so alone..... LOL So, I decided to do my own list of things I'm not so good at in the beauty world' Enjoy!!

1) Manicure/Pedicure: I am terrible at manicures and pedicures. Yes, I will paint my nails, but I'm not very good at it. Especially, when I'm painting my right hand. It looks like a boy did it. I also will paint my toe nails if I planning on wearing open toe shoes, but that's it. I have NEVER had a professional manicure or pedicure. And I don't plan on it. I don't think it's worth the money and I am extremely ticklish on my feet. I imagine myself kicking the manicurist in the face.

2) Winged top lid eyeliner: No matter what I do, I can never get both eyes to look alike. I have tried pencil liner, liquid and gel. I do find that gel is easier to work with, but my eyes still look like sisters instead of twins. I will get one eye to look PERFECT and then when I try to get the other wing to look the same, doesn't happen. I spend 20 minutes in the mirror with a q tip and liner trying to make it look somewhat the same. I have accepted the fact that I will always suck at this. As long as it looks good from far away, we are good.

3) Doing my hair: This is more a laziness factor, then a skill factor. I can straighten my hair, no problem. What I suck at is taking the 15 minutes to actually do it. I did straighten my hair twice last week (go me!!), but that was the first time in MONTHS. I always use the excuse that I am "giving my hair a break from heat styling" when I don't do it. Most days, I just brush it and put in ponytail.

4) Curling my hair: Now this is definitely a SKILL issue. I have never been able to curly my hair properly. The last time I remember curling my hair was like 7 years ago. I will post a picture below.

If I remember correctly, I used a TON of hairspray and the back DID NOT look good. Usually, when I curl my hair, either it looks weird because of the clamp or the curl will last for about an hour before it falls. I just now avoid any kind of "curly" hair styles and stick with my flat iron.

5) Washing my make-up brushes: I SUCK at this soooooo bad. I usually don't wash them till I look at them and they GROSS ME OUT. I did finally wash them last night, which I think is the first time for 2013. LOL I know it's bad and disgusting, but I just am lazy.

6) Doing my eyebrows: I am horrible at keeping up with grooming my eyebrows. Now, let's be mistaken, I do not have crazy hairy man eyebrows. I just take awhile to sit down and pluck them. I have naturally arched eyebrows, so they don't take much, but I am pretty bad at keeping up with them.

7) Waterline and tight line: I have never been able to line my waterline or my tight line. Trust me, I have tried. My eyes are way too sensitive (I have eye allergies), what when I do try to line, my eye burns, I blink or my eye starts watering excessively. This too, I have accepted is NEVER going to happen for me.

I hope you guys enjoyed this blog. Comment below with the things you suck at beauty wise. I will link below some of my YouTube Beauty Things I Suck At videos.

Hope all is well.

Shopping Haul: Target, Aeropostale, Journeys, Amazon etc

A couple of weeks ago, I did a little shopping. This is a collective haul from the past few weeks.

The first item is a pink and white lace tank dress from Mossimo that I got at Target for $24.99. They also had this in yellow, orange and I believe black.

Second item is this sleep tank from AERO by Aeropostale. Originally, it was $22.50, but it was 50% off, so I only paid $11.25. :-)

The third I bought, also from Aeropostale, are these cute pink glitter canvas slip-ons. Originally, they were $34.50, but they were on sale for $10.00.

The 4th and last thing I got at Aeropostale is this adorable grey cut-off bejeweled sweater. Originally, it was $39.50, but it was also on sale for $10.00.

Total savings at Aeropostale: $65.25

I ordered these wedges from Journey's website. They are the Carlet Wedge by Shi. Originally, $39.99, but I got them on sale for $20.00.

Recently, my job changed their dress code back to business casual for a few weeks and I was in serious need of some flats. I got these silver bejeweled Faded Glory flats at Wal-Mart for around $15.

I bought these cute leopard sunglasses yesterday at the Irish Day Festival in my tiny town. I got them from a local vendor and they were only $12. They also had them in pink and blue.

Now that I am an iPhone 4s user, of course I had to buy cases for my phone. I ordered a cute Hello Kitty one the day I ordered my phone, but it hasn't come yet. :-( I got the leopard one at Wal-Mart for $10. It's one of the plastic snap-on ones and it's buy the Macbeth Collection. The ice-cream cone one, I ordered from the AT&T website for $20 and it's a rubber case. The case is by Case-Mate.

Lastly, I bought these 2 books from Amazon. I got Hide and Seek (the 4th book in the Lying Game series) in hardcover for $3.46 plus $3.99 in shipping. I got Stunning (the 11th book in the Pretty Little Liars Series) in hardcover for $7.45 plus $3.99 shipping.

That's it for my collective haul from the past few weeks. I hope you guys enjoyed this post. I will be posting a beauty post some time this week. Hope all is well.

February Favorites!!!

It's that time again. Time for my monthly favorites....

First up, is the Pixi Flawless & Poreless Primer. I received this in my February Ipsy bag and I have been using it ever since. It's super moisturizing and makes my skin feel like silk. It does have strange scent, but not strange enough to keep me from using it. You can get Pixi products at Target. Next up is the Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-1 Foundation. I love this foundation. It makes your skin look super smooth and has amazing staying power. It claims to be a primer, concealer and foundation all in one. The coverage is amazing and I only had to use under eye concealer. My only downfall with this product is that I grabbed the WRONG color. I did make this one work, but I should be wearing the LIGHTEST shade, 805. Next is the NYC Sun 'N Bronze bronzing powder in Hamptons Radiance 706. I received this as a gift from Influenster (read my blog about it here). I have been using this as a blush and for contouring. It's super gorgeous and makes my skin look glowy.

Next, is the Suave Professionals Sleek conditioner. This smells like SUMMER! It has a coconut-y smell and I love it. This makes my hair silky smooth.

Lastly, is the Dove Go Fresh Deodorant in Restore Blue Fig and Orange Blossom. This smells like candy. I have always been a fan of Dove deodorant and this new scent is just amazing.

Hope you enjoyed my monthly favorites. Hope all is well.

Kristina

Thank you Influenster!!

Back in October, I joined influenster.com. My first box to review I received was the College Vox box and then the second one I got was the Holiday Vox box. Both boxes included an amazing product by NYC Cosmetics, the Showtime eyeliner and the Liquid Lip shine. Both products are equally amazing. For different reasons, obviously. I wrote a post about each product if you want to go back and read them. Which each box are brand challenges, extra stuff like posting on Twitter, Facebook, writing a blog, Pinterest or Instagraming about a product. I am not sure which box it's from, but I won an NYC brand challenge and won a prize.

I got this amazing NYC Sun 'N Bronze bronzing powder compact in 706 Hamptons Radiance. I checked Wal-Mart and this retail's around $5.49. The color is not too dark for my fair skin, however, it is very shimmery. If you like shimmery bronzers, then this is for you. I have been using it to contour and as blush. I will probably get more use out of it when summer is here. I was super excited to get this and just wanted to share. :)

Hope all is well in the land of beauty.

Kristina

Cost Efficeint Drugstore Haul

Does this every happen to anyone else?? I ran out of almost EVERYTHING at one time. I needed face wash, toner, conditioner and a few other things. This week I was running low on cash, so instead of shelling out my usual $20+ for my Neutrogena and Pantene products, I decided to be more cost efficient and try some new products.
The first thing I really needed to were some make-up remover wipes. These are the Equate (Wal-Mart) brand of the Neutrogena ones. I always get these. They work just as good, but cost way less.

Normally, I use Neutrogena Oil-Free Cream Cleanser, but I saw this and it was $2 less than Neutrogena. I love the St. Ives face scrub, so I thought I would give this a try. I'm really looking forward to using this. It smells good and it's paraben free.

I got this instead of the Triple Action Toner by Neutrogena. Again, because it was way cheaper. It is the Equate Sensitive Skin Astringent. It smells really good and I love how it makes my skin feel.

I really needed a good hair conditioner for my dyed and heat styled hair.  I got this Suave Sleek conditioner. It smells like the beach and coconuts. It's perfect to be starting the Spring/Summer months. I have used it once and I loved it.

The last thing I needed were some face sponges to apply foundation. I picked out these Cover Girl ones because they were only $3 and I had $1 off coupon so really they were $2. So far, I do like them. I did think they were bigger, but I can work with them.

Overall, it was a good cost efficient haul. I am happy with all of the products so far. Hope all is well in the world of blogging and beauty.

Love,
Krisse
